Claire Danes, who returns to theaters next month in Steve Martin's "Shopgirl," is in final talks to join Richard Gere in The Flock, says Reuters.

The thriller follows a hypervigilant federal agent (Gere) who is training his young female replacement (Danes). The two must track down a missing girl who might be connected to a paroled sex offender under investigation.

The film, budgeted at about $35 million, marks the English-language debut of Hong Kong director Andrew Lau ("Infernal Affairs").
