James Wong is set to direct Final Destination 3 for New Line Cinema in Vancouver, British Columbia, according to Production Weekly. Wong directed the 2000 original, which he wrote with Glen Morgan and Jeffrey Reddick.

The second installment was directed by David R. Ellis and written by J. Mackye Gruber and Eric Bress.

The third film, written by Wong and Morgan, follows high school student Wendy Christensen who fails to stop the fated roller coaster ride that she predicted would cause the deaths of several of her friends. She teams with schoolmate Kevin Fischer in a race against time to prevent death from revisiting the survivors of the accident.
