According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ray Romano has signed on to star in an untitled comedy for Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies.

Plot details are being kept under wraps, but Dean Lorey ("Arrested Development") is writing the screenplay, which will incorporate ideas from his original pitch and a remake project already in development at Paramount titled "Father Knows Best," which centers on a child who enters his dad in a Father of the Year contest and fudges his credentials so he will win. The father vows to tell the truth when he goes to pick up his award, but when he gets a look at the beautiful woman in charge of the contest, he gets tongue-tied and continues the ruse.

Gary Foster and Mark Steven Johnson are producing alongside Mike Karz.
