Producers Michel Shane and Anthony Romano ("I, Robot") are teaming with Diane Isaacs, Jory Weitz and Kent Harper to produce indie pic THE OTHER SIDE, reports Variety.

London-based Intandem Films is arranging financing.

David Michaels, who will make his feature directorial debut, penned the script with Phil Reeves ("Happy, Texas"). Attached to star are Brittany Murphy, Ryan Gosling, Tim Roth, Giovanni Ribisi, Jason Lee and Anjelica Huston, among others.

Billed as a twisted modern fable, story revolves around a science scholar who spends the summer on a strange island that is out-of-step with the real world. Following up on a string of clues, she tries to solve the mystery that has stunted island residents.

Michaels also is a producer, in addition to Shane, Romano, Isaac ("And Starring as Pancho Villa Himself"), Weitz ("Napoleon Dynamite") and Harper ("Statistics"). Romano and Shane are producing through their Hand Picked Films.

Intandem's Gary Smith, Andrew Brown, Billy Hurman are exec producing with Anthony Yohe, says the trade.
