Josh Hutcherson has signed on to star opposite Brendan Fraser in Walden Media and New Line Cinema's JOURNEY 3-D, says The Hollywood Reporter.
The movie, being directed by Eric Brevig and produced by Charlotte Huggins, will be a contemporary update in 3-D of Jules Verne classic science fiction novel "Journey to the Center of the Earth." The story revolves around a scientist (Fraser) and his troubled nephew (Hutcherson) on an expedition in Iceland who stumble upon a mystery that leads them on a thrill-ride adventure, bringing them face to face with never-before-seen worlds and creatures beneath Earth's surface. Fraser is exec producing.
