Jason Bateman has joined the cast of Universal Pictures' thriller THE KINGDOM, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Jamie Foxx, Chris Cooper and Jennifer Garner already have boarded the Peter Berg-helmed film, being written by Matthew Michael Carnahan.

The film is set following a deadly bombing attack that targeted Americans working in a Middle Eastern country. In response, the U.S. government sends in an elite team of counterterrorism investigators to try and find those responsible.
