EASY VIRTUE is one of two new projects added to the sales slate of Ralph Kamp and Louise Goodsill's Odyssey Entertainment for the upcoming Cannes market.
The other fresh addition is Darrell Roodt's PREY, starring Bridget Moynahan and Peter Weller as American tourists lost in the African bush who find themselves hunted by lions.
Odyssey also confirmed that Bette Midler has joined the cast of the previously announced THEN SHE FOUND ME, which co-stars Helen Hunt and Diane Keaton. That project, delayed from last year, is now in pre-production, with Hunt directing.
EASY VIRTUE is a stylish romantic comedy about a young Englishman who gets married to an American divorcee on the spur of the moment in the South of France and then must return home to face his family.
The play, written in 1926, was first made into a movie by Alfred Hitchcock in 1928.
Elliott ("Priscilla, Queen of the Desert") and Sheridan Jobbins penned the new adaptation. Ealing's Barnaby Thompson will produce with Joseph Abrams, with shooting to start in September.
PREY, shot earlier this year, is in post for delivery this fall. It was produced by Anant Singh's Distant Horizon.
