According to Variety, Ryan Gosling has been cast in the romantic comedy LARS AND THE REAL GIRL for Sidney Kimmel Entertainment. Craig Gillespie is directing from a script by Nancy Oliver ("Six Feet Under").

Production will begin in the fall.

Pic tells the offbeat story of Lars (Gosling), a lonely, delusional young man and his unconventional relationship with a lifelike doll he finds on the Internet.
