According to The Hollywood Reporter, Stephen Collins, one of the stars of television's "7th Heaven," is making a rare foray into the feature world. Collins has joined the cast of BLOOD DIAMOND, the Leonardo DiCaprio drama Ed Zwick is directing for Warner Bros. Pictures.
The story centers on a poor African farmer, played by Djimon Hounsou, who gets caught up in a conflict between an U.S. diamond smuggler (DiCaprio) and the syndicate that controls the local diamond mining industry. Collins plays an ambassador.
Collins' last feature was 1999's "Drive Me Crazy" with Melissa Joan Hart and Adrian Grenier.
