Source: Variety Mike Myers is making a deal at Paramount Pictures to co-write, produce and star in an untitled comedy based on Pitka, a new-age guru character he road-tested in New York-area theaters, says Variety. Myers, who'll write the script with Graham Gordy, will play the eccentric Pitka, who is called in to solve a couple's romantic troubles. As he did with Austin Powers, Myers honed the new character through a series of quiet stage shows. The campaign wasn't entirely covert, as several press reports appeared during the tour. According to one in New York magazine, Myers sported a fake nose and beard, chanted a fake mantra -- "Mariska Hargitay" -- and wore "a pair of assless chaps." |
