Writer-director Sean Penn continues to lure a stellar cast INTO THE WILD.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Oscar winners William Hurt and Marcia Gay Harden have signed on to co-star in the film, which will be distributed by Paramount Vantage. Emile Hirsch, Vince Vaughn and Catherine Keener already have boarded the project.

Based on Jon Krakauer's non-fiction book, the story centers on Christopher McCandless (Hirsch), who graduated from college in 1992, abandoned his possessions and hitchhiked to Alaska to live in the wilderness and return to nature.

He died four months later in an abandoned bus at a remote campsite. Hurt and Harden will play McCandless' parents.
