Ashley Judd's star turn as a promiscuous Southern alcoholic will hit theaters in the fall. Roadside Attractions has picked up U.S. theatrical rights to COME EARLY MORNING, the feature directorial debut of actress Joey Lauren Adams, says The Hollywood Reporter.
The Bold Films production centers on Lucy (Judd), a hardworking construction supervisor whose life has become a series of boozy one-night stands. When she meets Cal (Jeffrey Donovan), a newcomer to her small Arkansas town who is open to a relationship, she is forced to confront the family demons that haunt her.
Adams' debut screenplay is loosely based on her own experiences growing up in the South and parallels Judd's recent revelations of depression brought on by a difficult childhood.
