Universal Pictures has picked up MR. MACHINE, a high-concept family comedy pitch by David Gordon Green and Danny McBride, says The Hollywood Reporter.
Imagine Entertainment's Brian Grazer will produce, while Jon Heder and his brothers Dan and Doug are in negotiations to executive produce via their Greasy Entertainment banner.
MR. MACHINE, described as a throwback to the high-concept Amblin family comedies of the 1980s, revolves around three brainy slackers who build a robot that wants to take over the world.
