According to
The Hollywood Reporter, Sony Pictures and MGM are moving forward with a sequel to this year's
The Pink Panther, hiring newcomers Scott Neustadter and Michael M. Weber to write it.
At the same time, the duo have sold their anti-romantic comedy spec "(500) Days of Summer" to Fox Searchlight, with Mark Waters and Jessica Tuchinsky of Watermark attached to produce with Mason Novick.
The plot for the "Panther" sequel is being kept under wraps, though it has been described as high concept. Robert Simonds returns as the producer, while Steve Martin is on board to reprise his role as Inspector Jacques Clouseau.
