Variety reports that Jennifer Lopez is dropping out of New Regency/20th Century Fox's bigscreen redo of the hit TV show DALLAS.

Actress was set to star as the boozy Sue Ellen opposite John Travolta, who will play oil baron J.R. Ewing.

Lopez's press rep, Leslie Sloane Zelnick, confirmed to news outlets that the actress was leaving the project but did not elaborate.

Still attached to star are Luke Wilson and Shirley MacLaine.

Earlier this year, "Bend It Like Beckham" helmer Gurinder Chadha signed on to direct after Robert Luketic dropped out over creative differences.
