Variety reports that Paramount Pictures has set "The Nanny Diaries" authors Emma McLaughlin and Nicola Kraus to pen the screenplay for
FIVE MEN WHO BROKE MY HEART, adapting the romance memoir by Susan Shapiro.
McLaughlin and Kraus' own book has just been turned into a Weinstein Co. film starring Scarlett Johansson, Laura Linney, Paul Giamatti and Chris Evans and is set for release next year.
In their first studio assignment, the writers will turn Shapiro's midlife crisis into a romantic comedy. Rachael Horovitz of Specialty Films and Blumhouse's Jason Blum are producing.
Rattled by the prospect of turning 40 and restless with how her life was going, Shapiro decided to seek out the five boyfriends who dumped her. Her goal was to find out why she didn't measure up. Delacorte published the book.
