Meryl Streep

Meryl Streep, Glenn Close and Eileen Atkins have been cast in Lajos Koltai's EVENING, an adaptation of Susan Minot's novel with a screenplay by Michael Cunningham.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Streep will star with her 23-year-old daughter, Mamie Gummer, for the first time since their brief appearances together in 1986's "Heartburn" and 1993's "The House of the Spirits"; they will play the same character at different stages in her life.

Vanessa Redgrave also is cast opposite daughter Natasha Richardson; they will play an onscreen parent and child.

The Hart Sharp production, which will be released by Focus Features, also stars Toni Collette, Patrick Wilson, Claire Danes and Hugh Dancy.
