Revolution Studios is in talks with rapper turned actor, Ice Cube to play the title character in Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House, a role originated by Grant.

The original 1948 comedy starred Grant and Myrna Loy as a couple that chucks their Manhattan apartment for a big house in the suburbs. The fixer-upper proves to be a nightmare.

Cube's "Next Friday" director, Steve Carr, will helm the remake this summer.

Cube just toplined Revolution's road trip comedy "Are We There Yet?" He next stars for Revolution in the action sequel "XXX: State of the Union," which opens April 29.
