Nick Nolte is joining the cast of Peaceful Warrior, the adaptation of Dan Millman's inspirational memoir "Way of the Peaceful Warrior."
Scott Mechlowicz ("Mean Creek") stars in the drama as a top student and gymnast who meets a mysterious older man, to be played by Nolte. He nicknames the older man, who leads him on a spiritual quest, Socrates.
The cast also includes Amy Smart ("The Butterfly Effect"), Agnes Bruckner ("Blue Car"), Ashton Holmes (the upcoming "A History of Violence") and Paul Wesley (the upcoming "Cloud Nine").
The project begins filming this week in Los Angeles with Victor Salva (Jeepers Creepers) directing.
