Source: Ain't-It-Cool-News, IGN Filmforce Ain't-It-Cool-News reported on Tuesday that Beast, Gambit and Angel will join the mutant line-up for 20th Century Fox's X-Men 3. Here's what the site had to say... Seems that Professor Xavier is adding three new team members this time out. Personally, I think I'm happiest to hear that BEAST will be joining the X-Men. I love that blue furry bastard, and it sounds like he's going to serve the same role in these films that Morpheus did in THE MATRIX. All of you Cajun fans can finally rest easy. GAMBIT will indeed be part of the film this time around, and expect them to cast a fairly big name in the role. Now... what would a bit of superhero news be without some controversy? Ready for this one? ANGEL will be in the movie. But ANGEL... will be a girl. Meanwhile, the folks over at IGN Filmforce checked with its super-secret X3 insider who declared that "Angel is male!" The siteadvised that Angel (a.k.a. Warren Worthington III) will be a "major character" as will Beast.
Beast will be seen in his transformed state and will be played by a different actor than Steve Bacic, who appeared as Hank McCoy in X2.
Overall, the source confirmed the rest of the AICN report as accurate but emphasized that "Gambit is not a major character." While the ragin' Cajun enjoyed a relationship with Rogue in the comics, it's uncertain whether that will be a part of X3 in any way (or how any potential affair will sit with Rogue's current beau, Bobby "Iceman" Drake). {mosgoogle}
