"Arrested Development" star Jason Bateman is set to star in The Heartbreak Kid, the James Bobin-directed comedy that DreamWorks is putting into pre-production immediately.
"Heartbreak" is loosely inspired by the 1972 Neil Simon-scripted comedy that was directed by Elaine May. Bateman will play the young man who falls head over heels in love and gets married quickly, only to fall in love with another woman on the honeymoon.
"Saturday Night Live" star Amy Poehler is negotiating to play the female lead.
