Director Michael Lembeck has signed to helm The Santa Clause 3, clearing the way for the film to start shooting in November. As previously announced, Tim Allen will return.

"Clause 2" writers, Ed Decter and John Strauss are writing the screenplay, which finds Santa, aka Scott Calvin, struggling to keep his new family happy while battling Jack Frost, who is trying to take over Christmas.

Disney is aiming for a holiday 2006 release date.
