Tony Scott is in negotiations to direct the romantic thriller Deja Vu for producer Jerry Bruckheimer and Disney Studios, says Variety.

This is an extention of a long history for Scott and Bruckheimer who have partnered for hits such as Top Gun," "Days of Thunder," "Crimson Tide" and "Enemy of the State."

Deja Vu follows an FBI agent who travels back in time and falls in love with a woman doomed to be murdered.

Bruckheimer is currently hard at work on the "Pirates of the Caribbean' sequel, but hopes to start shooting Deja Vu this summer or fall.
