Source: Variety According to The Hollywood Reporter, Frank Langella will play newspaper editor Perry White in Superman Returns, which Bryan Singer is directing for Warner Bros. Hugh Laurie originally was cast in the role but bowed out due to scheduling conflicts with his TV series, "House." The series, on which Singer is executive producer, has proved a surprise hit and was just picked up for a second season. Laurie had not yet begun filming any scenes for "Superman" so the transition should be seamless. Pre-production is underway on the film in Australia and will begin shooting soon. Langella joins Brandon Routh as the Man of Steel, Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor and Kate Bosworth as Lois Lane. Parker Posey, Eva Marie Saint, James Marsden, Kal Penn and Sam Huntington are also part of the cast. {mosgoogle} |
