Amanda Bynes has signed to topline She's the Man for DreamWorks and producer Lauren Shuler Donner, reports Variety.

Andy Fickman  will direct the project, which is said to be a contemporary take on Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night" -- a story about the comic and romantic complications that ensue when a teenage girl poses as her missing twin brother for two weeks.

Fickman directed this month's original Showtime movie "Reefer Madness," based on the Broadway play and starring Alan Cumming.
