Source: Variety Variety reports that Hilary Duff and Haylie Duff will team for the first time in Material Girls, with Martha Coolidge directing. The comedy follows a pair of celebutante cosmetics heiresses who lose their fortune in a corporate scandal and launch an investigation to expose the culprit. Maverick Films and Patriot Pictures will co-finance the project, which was inspired by, yep you guessed it, Madonna's hit song "Material Girl." Hilary Duff will re-record the song for the films soundtrack, says Variety. John Quaintance (NBC's "Joey") penned the script, which was rewritten by Susan Jansen ("The Lizzie Maguire Movie") and Amy Rardin & Jessica O'Toole. Production begins in Los Angeles April 18. {mosgoogle} |
