Revolution Studios has tapped Sarah Jessica Parker to star and Adam Shankman to direct the dark comedy Slammer, reports Variety.
Parker plays a pushy publicist who's wrongly imprisoned on the charge she took fashion freebies meant for clients and turned them over to knockoff artists for mass production. Once in Sing Sing, she produces an inmate musical.
Production is hoped to begin in in February, once Shankman wraps the "Cheaper by the Dozen" sequel. He's just coming off "The Pacifier" and before that helmed "Bringing Down the House."
Parker, who returned to the bigscreen after "Sex and the City," is currently starring in ensemble comedy "The Family Stone" and then will join Matthew McConaughey in the Scott Rudin-produced "Failure to Launch" at Paramount.
