Brian Levant ("Are We There Yet?") has signed on to direct the family film Planet Terry for New Line Cinema, says The Hollywood Reporter.

"Planet" tells the story of a science fiction enthusiast who finds out that he is actually an alien who has been placed on Earth as part of an intergalactic witness protection program. Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio wrote the screenplay, which is based on an unpublished comic book by Rob Liefeld. Liefeld and Brooklyn Weaver also are producing.
